Today — all the way from Brazil and France and from UCllc's own immense Texas backyard — we have a couple of hand-drawn projects tempered by some additional vector-y range of logos.

JA Custom Types

Based in Curitiba, Brazil, Jackson Alves is a typographer, letterer, and calligrapher. If there is one thing that makes me jealous is seeing someone who is a fantastic calligrapher; it's an ability I've always wished I had. In this project, Jackson designs his own logo, which is a fine product in itself but what I loved the most about it was the DIY approach to his own business cards. Since he admittedly doesn't use them that often, a large print run didn't make sense, so he made a rubber stamp for this address and the "Custom Types" part of his name and then each card is hand-lettered with the "JA" monogram in different colors and textures. Ryan Freer Logos

Although Friday Likes are usually about a specific project I am giving myself some liberty to Like a range of projects in the form of Abilene, TX-based Ryan Freer's logos. Individually, they are all fairly good but there is something quite enjoyable about scrolling through his collection of logos that display a great balance between the hand-drawn and the computer-y. Fuel Motorcycles

To complete today's hand-drawnish approach we have this logo by Bordeaux, France-based BMD Design for Barcelona, Spain-based Fuel Motorcycles. It's far from perfect and it's far from original but somehow it manages to look far out awesome, especially as it changes textures from watercolor, to photocopy, to rough-edged.
