My Burger
With two locations in Minneapolis, MN, My Burger is one of the happiest-looking burger joints I've seen, everything about it looks optimistic. Launched in 2004, My Burger was redesigned by local firm Fame in late 2011 with a great, minimalistic aesthetic that gets maximalistically plastered all over the place. Great illustration, great interiors, and great copy but the question for those of us who live not in Minneapolis: great burgers? [More and More].
287: Celebrate Legendary
To commemorate Roger Federer's 287th week of being ranked the No. 1 tennis player in the world, the Nike Tennis team issued a limited-edition series of Federer's Zoom Vapor 9 Tour shoe, limited to 287 pairs. Nike designer Darrin Crescenzi created a lovely 287 ambigram that, now that it's finished, seems like such an obvious and simple solution, but that just points to the efficacy which it was pulled off. Yoobi
Named after the Japanese word for "fingers," Yoobi in London specializes in Temaki, delicious sushi cones. Its identity, revolving around the Temaki shape and its myriad innards, has been designed by ico, also in London. I'm not crazy about the wordmark but I love the icon and how it looks almost like a nautical flag system. But probably the best part is the extension of the triangle visual language into the custom-made furniture, with colorful and angled chairs and tables. [More]
